This event has a maximum capacity of 40 adults, children students 3rd grade or older are welcome to attend with IFT member parents, however, as a disclaimer, this facility is an active construction zone.
There is a parking lot on site with free on street parking available
The Plant Chicago is the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that runs out of The Plant. The Plant is a 93,500 square foot former meatpacking plant, now home to a community of businesses specializing in food production. Simply put, the model behind The Plant is a circular economy in action. The Plant Chicago’s organizational mission is to develop circular economies of food production, energy conservation and materials reuse; while empowering people of all backgrounds to make their cities healthier and more efficient.
This educational event will include a tour of The Plant Chicago and discussion on the meanings of a circular economy in terms of the US food industry.
