Includes but not limited to working cross-functionally with sales, suppliers, quality, regulatory and sourcing, in the execution of innovation and customer projects. Create Product Specifications, conduct shelf-life evaluations and supporting existing business.<\/p>\n<p>Essential duties and responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Assist with R&amp;D activities including, development of new products, assess new ingredient solutions, and equipment operation (SOPs).<br \/>\nAbility to execute project assigned, independently, after initial project brief review with Food Scientist.<br \/>\nDesign and conduct bench top experiments and scale-up to pilot plant.<br \/>\nDevelop product concept cards and application bulletins.<br \/>\nProvide data analysis, conclusions, recommendations, and technical updates to project teams.<br \/>\nDemonstrate and stay current on project management systems and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).<br \/>\nPromote and demonstrate good behaviors to identify and minimize impact of health and safety hazards.<br \/>\nTakes initiative toward continuous improvement of laboratory methods, processes and protocols.<br \/>\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/p>\n<p>Detail-oriented, organization and time management skills.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-active, collaborative work style with enthusiasm to deliver results, passion for learning and excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change.<\/p>\n<p>Education and Experience<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, Culinary Science, or related science field.<\/p>\n<p>Exposure to the R&amp;D environment in the food industry as Project lead or execution.<\/p>\n<p>Experience with use of basic analytical lab and bench top equipment for product making.<\/p>\n<p>MS Office, Excel proficiency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Physical and Work Environment<br \/>\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds.<br \/>\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and energized equipment.
