R&D Laboratory Technician
\nDepartment: Solutions R&D
\nLocation: Carol Stream, IL
\nType: Full-Time<\/p>\n
Summary
\nThe R&D Lab Technician creates premix samples for customer evaluation. In addition, the R&D Lab Technician will evaluate raw materials and perform specification testing when applicable.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
\nCreates sample premix blends based upon work orders and instructions and direction provided by R&D; catalogs retained samples
\nPerform certain testing on premix sample and record results in the systems.
\nSupport the approval process and required testing on incoming lots of raw materials.
\nObtain R&D approvals for created samples when necessary
\nPrepare paperwork and packaging for shipping samples
\nMaintain sample warehouse inventory including receipts and transfers
\nGenerate technical documents for premix samples and raw materials, and store them in the system.
\nManage sample work orders (launch, execute, close)<\/p>\n
All Prinova employees are required to ensure compliance standards with food safety, food defense and food quality. (FDA, ILDPH, FSMA and BRC).

Qualifications

Education and\/or Experience
\nAssociates degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline with one to three years related experience and\/or training OR Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent in scientific discipline with academia related experience and\/or training OR two to five years\u2019 experience in a related work environment
\nPrevious lab experience and knowledge of metric system required.<\/p>\n
Language Skills
\nAbility to read, understand and interpret regulatory information, industry standards, and International and Federal Food Regulations. The ability to format and create R&D\/quality documents where necessary.<\/p>\n
Mathematical Skills
\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Thorough understanding of unit conversions, nutritional analysis calculations.<\/p>\n
Reasoning Ability
\nAbility to make educated judgments on correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of information. Must be able to organize, and prioritize and make decisions.<\/p>\n
Attention to Detail
\nMust continually demonstrate a strong attention to detail and careful execution of tasks.<\/p>\n
Computer Skills
\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must be comfortable collecting and interpreting data.<\/p>\n
